“If Your Reading This, I’m either Missing Or Dead” – Clark County Teen Disappears Under Mysterious Circumstances

AnjiDeanWashington teen Anji Dean’s family hasn’t seen her since June 23rd, but it seems the 17-year-old had gotten into trouble before disappearing [via CBS]. She told school counselors and teachers that she had found her way into an impossible situation. On the day of her disappearance, she texted her boyfriend and said someone was threatening to kill him and her entire family because of something she’d done. That morning, a neighbor reported seeing her getting out of a blue Volvo that had four other people in it, but the neighbor could only identify the driver — a black man with a goatee. Dean left behind all of her personal belongings except for the clothes she was wearing at the time, which her mom described as “black running tights, a white razor back tank top and white Nike shoes.”

Next week will mark the 39th anniversary since little Jeffrey Bratcher disappeared. Jeffrey, then 7, was last seen during the evening of June 15, 1974 playing with five other children, including his siblings, inside of Ocean City State Park in Ocean City, Washington.

The young boy was told that dinner would be ready at 7PM and to return to the picnic table that his family were stationed at. When it was nearing 7PM Jeffrey decided to take a separate path back to the picnic table which was approximately 150 feet from the shore. He separated from the other children and within moments he vanished.

The whole park had been searched by police, family and volunteers but no sign of Jeffrey Bratcher was ever found. Search dogs are believed to have picked up his scent which ended at the park’s entrance/exit. Authorities believe he was either kidnapped or somehow managed to fall in the Ocean and got swept out to sea.

At the time of his disappearance Jeffrey and his siblings were visiting his father and step mother in Ocean Shores. His mother, who lived in Mesquite, Texas, had full custody.

‘If I die, take care of my boys’: Chilling journal of missing mother Susan Powell shows deterioration of her marriage – and warns that her death ‘may not be an accident’

  • Journal entries shows Susan Powell’s growing distrust with her husband Josh, as well as her attempts to repair their marriage
  • Entries reveal that she lamented over the loss of the loving husband she used to know
  • The couple tried to have a third baby just months before she disappeared
  • Josh Powell killed himself and her two sons in a horrific murder-suicide last year
  • Susan Powell disappeared in 2009, and her body has never been found

A newly-revealed journal has shown the despair and turmoil of Susan Powell, who felt like a prisoner in her marriage and warned that she didn’t trust her husband in the months before she vanished.

She had been married about a year when she started writing a journal. She was a love-struck, 20-year-old newlywed, dreaming of the future she would build with her husband.

‘I just feel incredibly lucky to have Josh,’ she wrote in 2002. Before long, however, she found herself torn.

Three women who have been missing for a decade, found ALIVE just a few miles from where they lived (HUFFINGTONPOST)

a-CLEVELAND-GIRLS-404x304CLEVELAND — Two women who went missing as teenagers about a decade ago were found alive Monday in a residential area just south of downtown, within a few miles of where they disappeared.

Cheering crowds gathered Monday night on the street near the home where police said Amanda Berry (pictured left) Gina DeJesus (pictured right) and a third woman were found earlier in the day. The identity of the third woman hadn’t been confirmed.

Police didn’t immediately provide any details of how the women were found or what conditions they were in.

Berry disappeared at age 16 on April 21, 2003, when she called her sister to say she was getting a ride home from her job at a Burger King. DeJesus went missing at age 14 on her way home from school about a year later.

In January, a prison inmate was sentenced to 4 1/2 years after admitting he provided a false burial tip in the disappearance of Berry, who had last been seen the day before her 17th birthday. A judge in Cleveland sentenced Robert Wolford on his guilty plea to obstruction of justice, making a false report and making a false alarm.

Last summer, Wolford tipped authorities to look for Berry’s remains in a Cleveland lot. He was taken to the location, which was dug up with backhoes.

Berry’s mother, Louwana Miller, who had been hospitalized for months with pancreatitis and other ailments, died in March 2006. She had spent the previous three years looking for her daughter, whose disappearance took a toll as her health steadily deteriorated, family and friends said.

Two men arrested for questioning in the disappearance of DeJesus in 2004 were released from the city jail in 2006 after officers did not find her body during a search of the men’s house.

One of the men was transferred to the Cuyahoga County Jail on unrelated charges, while the other was allowed to go free, police said.

In September 2006, police acting on a tip tore up the concrete floor of the garage and used a cadaver dog to search unsuccessfully for DeJesus’ body. Investigators confiscated 19 pieces of evidence during their search but declined to comment on the significance of the items then.

No Amber Alert was issued the day DeJesus failed to return home from school in April 2004 because no one witnessed her abduction. The lack of an Amber Alert angered her father, Felix DeJesus, who said in 2006 he believed the public will listen even if the alerts become routine.

“The Amber Alert should work for any missing child,” Felix DeJesus said then. “It doesn’t have to be an abduction. Whether it’s an abduction or a runaway, a child needs to be found. We need to change this law.”

Cleveland police said then that the alerts must be reserved for cases in which danger is imminent and the public can be of help in locating the suspect and child.

SHAINA ASHLEY KIRKPATRICKAge progressed photo showing what Shaina may have looked liked at 7 years old. She will be turning 14 in a few weeks.

Exactly one week ago today marked the 12th anniversary since the disappearance of Shaina Kirkpatrick, then 1, and her newborn baby sister, Shausha.

Kimyala Henson, the mother of both girls, had planned to take them on vacation to Sacramento, California and they were being joined by Henson’s friend, Christina Mayer and a man whom Mayer introduced as her husband, Curtis. They left their Portland home on April 4, 2001 enroute to Sacramento and although they are believed to have made it to California it is unclear if they made it to Sacramento.

It has been confirmed that on April 5, 2001, less than 24 hours after leaving their Portland home Henson and her daughters had travelled to Redding, California and were seen at Shasta’s Lodge with both Mayer and Oehring. This was the last confirmed sighting of the two girls and the last time their mother would be seen alive.

Henson’s murdered remains were located on April 29, 2001 in a Nevada desert but Shaina and Shausha’s whereabouts are still unknown.

Steven Kirkpatrick, the boyfriend of Henson and the father of both Shaina and Shausha had told authorities that both he and Henson had never met Curtis prior to April 2001 and police would soon learn that ‘Curtis’ was in fact Frank Oehring, a fugitive from Missouri who had a warrant out for his arrest at the time due to attempting to murder his ex-wife. According to his former wife Henson had led a group of Satanists and Mayer was a member.

Just over two weeks after both girls disappeared, on April 20, 2001, both Mayer and Oehring were discovered in a vehicle at a rest stop in Collier County, FL. Mayer was dead upon discovery after being shot to death and Oehring was near death suffering from a gun shot wound to the head. He died just days later at the hospital.

It was determined that Oehring was responsible in what police have called a ‘murder/suicide’. He also left behind letters detailing their plan to steal Henson’s birth certificate. Mayer had assumed the murdered woman’s identity in Las Vegas, NV shortly after they met up with her in Oregon. Nothing in the letter indicated they were responsible for the murder of Henson nor the disappearance of her two daughters however, common sense and the circumstantial evidence points to them and police believe they had something to do with it.

They two girls are considered at risk.

The first one is a photo taken at the hospital after her January 2001 birth, and the second photo shows Shausha as a 2 month old, her age when she went missing. Artists were unable to create an age progressed photo due to her age and lack of details.

Tuesday will mark the fourth year anniversary since a Whitman County toddler disappeared from his Aunt’s front yard

avery-blakeleyClassified: Endangered Missing
Full Name: Avery Bryant Blakeley
Missing From: Malden, Whitman County, WA
Date of Birth: December 10, 2006
Date of Disappearance: March 26, 2009
Age Then: 2
Age Now: 6
Race: Biracial (White/Hispanic)
Sex: Male
Hair: Brown Eye: Brown
Weight: 2’8″ Height: 27 lbs
Clothing: Last seen wearing gray sweatpants and a blue sweatshirt with red sleeves.

Four years ago, during the afternoon of March 26, 2009, Avery Blakeley was playing in his aunt’s front yard trailer home in Malden, Washington. His aunt was planning to move so she along with Avery’s mother were bringing items outside and would check on him every several minutes. By 12:30PM Avery had vanished and after 20 minutes of searching in and around the trailer home they contacted the Police Department to file a missing persons report.

averyblakeleyDozens of volunteers immediately helped with local searches. Police couldn’t find any evidence to indicated a kidnapping or foul play however, that theory isn’t entirely ruled out. They believe it’s possible that the missing toddler drowned in Pine Creek, which runs by the aunt’s trailer. They found his slippers on the bank of the creek and at the time the creek was very high with debris filled muddy/murky water which made it extremely difficult to search for a body. However, dive teams went out and searched for Avery’s body again after the creek’s water level receded, and conditions improved, to no avail. One would think that if he had drowned she would have been found by now.

Both photos were taken less than a year before Avery went missing

Police assume Avery is no longer alive however, a body has never been located.

Avery turned 6 this past December. An age progressed photo hasn’t been created as of today.

Family Still Holding Out Hope For Son Who Was Kidnapped 27 Years Ago As A Baby

CHRISTOPHER-ENOCH-ABEYTANCMC600552e1Photo of baby Christopher and an age-progressed photo showing what he may look like today at 27.

Case Type: Endangered Missing
Full Name: Christopher Enoch Abeyta
Birthdate: November 28, 1985
Missing Date: July 15, 1986
Race: White Sex: Male
Age Now: 27
Height: 2’2″ Weight: 17 pounds
Missing City: Colorado Springs
Missing State: Colorado
Country: USA
Hair Color: Blonde Eyes: Blue
Other: Christopher is of Swedish, German and Spanish decent. His hair may have darkened to brown or dirty-blond over the years. His father and siblings are all of average or above average height so he may be as well, now that he’s older.

Christopher Abeyta was 7 months old when he was kidnapped as he slept on the night of July 15, 1986. His parents had put him to bed in his crib which was located in the parents room, and he was taken sometime after midnight and hasn’t been seen or heard from since.

The garage door opener was missing and the basement window was open. His parents called police and reported him missing at approximately 6:30AM. When police arrived they couldn’t find any signs of forced entry however, the front door had been left unlocked threw out the night giving anyone the opportunity to sneak in. Like most cases of missing children, family was considered the first suspects. Christopher’s mother and father had separated initially but were working things out and his father had slept at the home on the night of the disappearance. This was the first time since the separation. Investigators haven’t cleared either parent with the case but have no evidence to indicate they are involved.

Quail Lake was drained in the days after Christopher’s disappearance. Nothing was found. Neighbors hadn’t seen anything out of the ordinary and local searchers turned up nothing. In the last 27 years not one trace of the baby boy was found. No clothing, no (confirmed) sightings, nothing.

christopher-abeytaThe parents of Christopher refuse to accept that he is dead and believe someone (who maybe couldn’t bare their own children), abducted their child and raised him as their own. They have created a website, Find Christopher, which is updated regularly and features a “Message to Christopher from his family” on the front page;

We have searched for you for 26 years.
Our lives have forever been changed by this cowardly act done to an innocent baby, and there is no such thing as closure. We have lived with the hope that you were raised with a family whom has loved and cared for you. Your family continues to investigate your disappearance and will not stop until we have answers and justice has been served. You have loving parents and 6 older brothers and sisters who play an active part in your investigation.
We love you!

This pictured of Christopher is posted by the family on their website (mentioned above). Under the photo is a caption which reads ‘The photo is Christopher posing with a Baseball Trophy that his Dad had won for him at a baseball tournament taken a month before he was kidnapped’.

The family is also offering a reward of $100,000 for information leading to the recovery of Christopher Abeyta — They’ve listed some possible locations of where he may be including Texas and New Mexico. It is unclear why they believe he might be in these locations.

Mother of four vanished after filing reports regarding a possible stalker and has never been seen again

rachael-anderson

  • Full Name: Rachael Leigh Anderson
  • Missing From: Clarkston, Washington
  • DOB: June 11, 1969
  • DOD: April 16, 2010
  • Age Then: 40
  • Age Now: 42
  • Race: White Sex: Female
  • Height: 5’ 4″
  • Weight: 120 lbs
  • Eyes: Brown
  • Hair: Black

April 16, 2013 will be the third year anniversary since a Idaho mother vanished without a trace.

Rachael Anderson was 40-years-old mother of four children when she was last seen in the Clarkston, WA area on April 16, 2010. A few days later on April 19, 2010, after not being able to contact their mother, and after she failed to report to work, Amber Griswold and Ashley Colbert filed a missing persons report with the Clarkston Police Department. On April 21, 2010, her SUV, along with her cell phone, were located abandoned near a bus stop in North Lewiston.

According to reports, it appeared that prior to the missing mother’s disappearance she was being stalked. In fact, in the weeks leading up to her disappearance she had been receiving text messages and phone calls in which the unknown caller would hang up. Several complaints were filed with the police and they were working with her to find out who was behind the calls.

“She was confused, scared, didn’t know who it was. She was afraid for her life, we had many conversations where we were talking about how this could end in her death,” said Amber Griswold

On Rachael Anderson’s Facebook page a post by Ashley, posted in 2010 shortly after her mother vanished, states:

“The stalking began three months ago with phone calls. At first with the phone calls, no one would respond. The phone calls progressed into music playing in the background, that was muffled, and no one would speak on the phone. Then she started getting phone calls from various telephone numbers with disguised voices. The disguised voices would tell her what she was doing, what specific lights were on in her home, as if every move she made was being watched.

During this time my mom had the lock to her shed broken off, eerily men’s cologne was present on her front porch at night, her vehicle tires were slashed in front of her home, and the back windshield of her vehicle was broken in broad daylight at the parking lot of her employer. She had reported this information to law enforcement as she feared for her life. Multiple police reports were filed and she was working with a police detective with whom she checked in with everyday. On the day that my sister and I reported our mother missing, our mother was supposed to meet with detectives to try and find out who was stalking and harassing her. Interestingly, my mother also had documented information which she was compiling together that is now missing.”

However, there is no evidence to prove the alleged stalker is responsible and it appears Rachael had other issues regarding her ex-husband, Charles Capone, who she was in the midst of divorcing.

In the months leading up to her disappearance Rachael filed harassment complaints against Capone. Police questioned him but he denied any involvement. He was never officially named a suspect in the case.

Rachael’s daughters believe he had something to do with it and they believe he had something to do with the stalking as well. They say that he was controlling and tried to isolate their mother from friends and family, which is a common tactic among abusive and controlling husbands.

Capone is a convicted felon and was arrested in an unrelated crime Moscow, Idaho shortly after the disappearance.

The case has since gone cold and Rachael Anderson’s whereabouts remain unknown.

The Disappearance Of Joseph Pichler

Hope For Joe Pichler

Photo of Joseph Pichler taken shortly before his disappearance.

11/04/12, BREMERTON, WA → Joseph David Wolfgang Pichler was born in Bremerton, Washington on Valentines day (February 14, 1987) and was described by family as a good kid who never ran away or got in trouble. He moved to (Los Angeles) California at six-years-old to focus on acting and even had some success appearing in various TV shows and movies including The Fan (starring Robert Deniro and Westley Snipes,) Varsity Blue, Children and their Birthdays, and his most popular role as Brennan Newton in the third and fourth installments of Beethoven.

Hope For Joe Pichler

Joe in his younger years posing with singer/rapper “LL Cool J”

Joe didn’t want to go back to his hometown of Bremerton but his family felt he should come back and finish highschool and, in 2003, with their insistence he left Los Angeles and moved back to Washington. He graduated from Bremerton High School in 2005 and  was planning to move back to LA in 2006 to get back into acting but wanted to wait until his top braces were off which would have taken approximately one year so in the mean time he got a job, moved into his own apartment and spent much of his time hanging out with his friends and family.

Joe went to hang out at a friend’s home on the night of January 5, 2006. There, he hung out with several different friends playing cards and drinking beer. Everyone who was there that night claimed Joe was in good spirits and his behavior was normal but according to one friend his mood changed when the night ended and everyone left.

According to reports, Joe drove his friend’s home after a night of drinking and playing card games. After dropping them off he placed a call at 4:08am to one of the friends that he was with earlier that night. The unidentified friend said that Joe was upset and inconsolable and told him that he didn’t know why he was crying and that he couldn’t stop drinking. He told him he would call him back in an hour but never did and hasn’t been heard from since.

His vehicle, a silver 2005 Toyota Corolla, was located a few days later on January 9, 2006 at the intersection of Wheaton Way and Sheridan Road on Lebo Blvd. All of his possessions including his cell phone were still in his car except his wallet and car keys. He was reported as officially missing by his parents 11 days later on January 16, 2006 after not being able to reach him.

According to reports the young man’s apartment was unlocked with lights on which is out of character and not something he is known to do.

Police initially believed that after leaving his friend’s house that night he committed suicide by jumping off the Port Madison Narrows but search dogs did not pick up any scents and nothing ever surfaced despite numerous searches.

Nobody has ever come forward with any creditable sightings or information regarding his whereabouts.

A letter written by Joe was discovered, in it he says he wished he would’ve been a “stronger brother” for his younger brother and asked that his little brother be given his belongings.

Joe’s family insisted that he met with foul-play, they said he wouldn’t have taken his own life and no hard evidence points to him doing so. His family is still actively searching for clues as to what happened the night of his disappearance.

The Pichlers

Statement written by Kathy Pichler, Joe’s mother:

My son, Joseph Pichler, went missing five and a half years ago. His case was handled SO poorly by police and most of the evidence was lost. Their mistakes were because local police didn’t know the correct procedures for missing children/persons. Since the disappearance of my son, my local law enforcement has learned to handle these cases much better. For that I am very thankful. It helps find some purpose for my family’s tragedy. Joseph is not a runaway; that’s the only thing I know for sure about his disappearance. After nearly six years, we still have no resolution. Since Joseph’s disappearance, my focus has been to help raise awareness of our nation’s epidemic. I also struggle to get through each day without answers as to the whereabouts of my missing son. Our system is so very broken, in so many ways. Through education and prevention, there is hope. I keep looking for purpose in my son’s disappearance. The only way I’ve found anything positive about my loss is when I help others live this nightmare. I do understand the suffering of other parents. Now I try to work for a better future so that others aren’t forced to wear these shoes.

Joe was 19 at the time he went missing and would be 25 today. He likes to wear T-shirts and loose baggy jeans and is described as a Caucasian male with light brown hair, hazel-green eyes, standing 6’2 and weighing roughly 165 pounds. He also has a small scar at the bridge of his nose and although he had gotten his lower braces taken off prior to January 2006, he still had his top braces on.

He has a tattoo of a red Star Wars emblem on his right forearm
