Levon Wameling has been missing for over six weeks. He was last seen at his home in Utica, New York on the night of May 29, 2013.

According to reports, Utica Police were notified when an attorney contacted them informing them that Levon’s father, Jevon Wameling, 27, left the child on his Jay Street front porch at 11:30PM on May 29th while he went around to unlock the back door, and when he got into the house and opened the front door, Levon was gone.

It was only after 2 weeks, on June 11, 2013 when the child’s mother and Levon’s stepfather confronted Jevon that he claimed the baby was missing and possibly kidnapped.

Utica police and New York State Police K-9 units spent hours searching the streets and wooded areas around 748 Jay St. for any clues about what happened to Levon but so far have come up empty. They have asked others to NOT form search parties while the investigation is underway.

Levon was last seen wearing only a diaper according to his father. He is now 11-months old and his whereabouts remain unknown.

Where is Elaina Steinfurth? Toledo Baby Missing Since June 2nd

eliana-endangered-missing18-month-old Elaina Steinfurth (pictured), known widely as “Baby Elaina” was reported missing on June 2, 2013 when her father went to pick her up along with her 4-year-old sibling at the mother’s Toledo, Ohio home located on the 700th block of Federal Street. When he arrived the child’s mother made excuses before claiming Elaina had been kidnapped.

Police, dive teams, volunteers and search dogs have been trying to locate the little girl for several weeks now to no avail.

June 2nd – HLN Timeline:

Terry Steinfurth Jr. described what happened when he went to pick his two daughters up from his estranged wife on June 2 and he discovered that Elaina was missing.

Angela Steinfurth, Elaina’s mother, had stayed at her ex-boyfriend Steven King’s house the previous night. When Terry went to the Federal Street home of King’s family to get the girls, he says he found Angela sitting on the porch smoking a cigarette.

“I asked her to go get the baby,” he said. “She told me she had just laid her down for a nap and she wasn’t waking her up.”

According to Terry, Angela let their 4-year-old go with him but she refused to go inside and get Elaina. Then he claims King started “yelling and screaming like he wanted to fight, ripped his shirt off.”

At that point, Terry says he left and came back with his father, Terry Steinfurth Sr., who got out of the car and confronted King.

“The boyfriend told me he would fight with me, like he wants to do with my son, and I just told him I wasn’t there to fight with him,” Steinfurth Sr. told Grace Monday. “I wanted to see my granddaughter.”

Steinfurth Sr. claims Angela told him she would not give Elaina up because she thought Terry would never bring her back. She finally agreed to go inside and get Elaina, and King went into the house with her, he says.

Steinfurth Sr. said Angela came back outside about a half hour later and claimed someone had taken Elaina.

According to a police report obtained by HLN Monday, King is believed to have left through the back door during this time without anyone knowing. Angela allegedly said he left to go look for Elaina.

The police report revealed additional information about the timeline of events on June 2. According to the report, Angela said she last saw Elaina when she put her down for a nap around 1 p.m.

She said she and her ex-boyfriend then went to the Family Dollar and, when they returned, the door to the bedroom where Elaina had been sleeping was still closed so she did not go in to check on her.

Around 2 p.m., Terry Steinfurth Jr. arrived. After arguing with Angela, he returned around 2:30 with his father and Angela agreed to get Elaina. 25 minutes later, Angela said Elaina was gone. Steven King had left at that point.

Police arrived around 3 p.m. and began interviewing witnesses and searching the neighborhood. King returned around 4:30 p.m., according to the report.

The police report described the King house as “unfit for living,” noting sewage overflowing from a toilet and dog feces on the floor.

King and his parents have not returned calls from HLN seeking a comment on the case since Thursday, but his mother and father both told HLN last week that he is cooperating fully with investigators and does not know where Elaina is.

Angela Steinfurth was arrested last Wednesday on a child endangerment charge for allegedly not seeking medical attention for Elaina after she suffered an injury. She remains in custody on $250,000 bond.

Angela’s stepfather, Richard Schiewe, suggested Monday that there is more to the story.

“My daughter screwed up big time, okay?” Schiewe told Nancy Grace. “I’m not making excuses. I can’t forgive and I can’t forget it. The story is she knows what happened to the baby. She got afraid because people threatened, if you say anything, you’re next.”

Schiewe claimed Angela told him she does not know where Elaina is, but she knows what happened to her and who took her from the house.

According to Schiewe, Angela told him she had made a big mistake, but he would not say what the mistake was, stating that the FBI told him not to talk about it. However, he did say his “gut feeling” is that Elaina is dead.

Elaina is described as a White female, brown hair, blue eyes, 2’1″ tall, weighing 21 pounds.

Family Still Holding Out Hope For Son Who Was Kidnapped 27 Years Ago As A Baby

CHRISTOPHER-ENOCH-ABEYTANCMC600552e1Photo of baby Christopher and an age-progressed photo showing what he may look like today at 27.

Case Type: Endangered Missing
Full Name: Christopher Enoch Abeyta
Birthdate: November 28, 1985
Missing Date: July 15, 1986
Race: White Sex: Male
Age Now: 27
Height: 2’2″ Weight: 17 pounds
Missing City: Colorado Springs
Missing State: Colorado
Country: USA
Hair Color: Blonde Eyes: Blue
Other: Christopher is of Swedish, German and Spanish decent. His hair may have darkened to brown or dirty-blond over the years. His father and siblings are all of average or above average height so he may be as well, now that he’s older.

Christopher Abeyta was 7 months old when he was kidnapped as he slept on the night of July 15, 1986. His parents had put him to bed in his crib which was located in the parents room, and he was taken sometime after midnight and hasn’t been seen or heard from since.

The garage door opener was missing and the basement window was open. His parents called police and reported him missing at approximately 6:30AM. When police arrived they couldn’t find any signs of forced entry however, the front door had been left unlocked threw out the night giving anyone the opportunity to sneak in. Like most cases of missing children, family was considered the first suspects. Christopher’s mother and father had separated initially but were working things out and his father had slept at the home on the night of the disappearance. This was the first time since the separation. Investigators haven’t cleared either parent with the case but have no evidence to indicate they are involved.

Quail Lake was drained in the days after Christopher’s disappearance. Nothing was found. Neighbors hadn’t seen anything out of the ordinary and local searchers turned up nothing. In the last 27 years not one trace of the baby boy was found. No clothing, no (confirmed) sightings, nothing.

christopher-abeytaThe parents of Christopher refuse to accept that he is dead and believe someone (who maybe couldn’t bare their own children), abducted their child and raised him as their own. They have created a website, Find Christopher, which is updated regularly and features a “Message to Christopher from his family” on the front page;

We have searched for you for 26 years.
Our lives have forever been changed by this cowardly act done to an innocent baby, and there is no such thing as closure. We have lived with the hope that you were raised with a family whom has loved and cared for you. Your family continues to investigate your disappearance and will not stop until we have answers and justice has been served. You have loving parents and 6 older brothers and sisters who play an active part in your investigation.
We love you!

This pictured of Christopher is posted by the family on their website (mentioned above). Under the photo is a caption which reads ‘The photo is Christopher posing with a Baseball Trophy that his Dad had won for him at a baseball tournament taken a month before he was kidnapped’.

The family is also offering a reward of $100,000 for information leading to the recovery of Christopher Abeyta — They’ve listed some possible locations of where he may be including Texas and New Mexico. It is unclear why they believe he might be in these locations.

Jonathan said the baby appeared to be fine, but she was taken to a hospital as a precaution.

Baby Kidnapped Over A Decade Ago Still Missing

This segment of unsolved mysteries was aired on August 28, 2001, several months after the kidnapping. Jacqueline’s case was also aired on America’s Most Wanted (web exclusive.)

Photo of Jacqueline Castaneda taken shortly before she was kidnapped

Birth name: Jacqueline Castaneda-Vasquez
Location of incident:
Avondale, Phoenix, Arizona
Date of birth:
January 14, 2001
Date of abduction:
May 6, 2001
Other:
She is described as a Caucasian/Hispanic female with brown hair and brown eyes and a heart-shaped birthmark on her upper arm. On the day the baby was kidnapped, she was wearing a white outfit and was strapped into a green and white car seat. She would be 12-years-old (and turning thirteen in a couple of months.)

Short description of abduction: Jacqueline Vasquez was just a baby when she was last seen at a swap meet located on 12300 West Buckeye Road located in Avondale, AZ.  At the time of her disappearance, Jacqueline was wearing a white outfit and was strapped into a white and green car-seat carrier. She has a heart-shaped birthmark on her upper right arm.
According to police, the baby’s father dropped off Vasquez and her family at the event Sunday morning. An older family member ran a booth at the meet. Despite leads from the local community, Jacqueline has not been seen since she disappeared. Police have no suspect’s, but they would like to speak to the woman in this sketch

Full story: In May of 2001, Olivia Castaneda arrived at a swap meet outside Phoenix, Arizona, with two of her three  children, Niely Castaneda who was just a toddler, and Jacqueline Castaneda who was 4-months-old going on 5-months, and the children’s grandmother (a.k.a Olivia’s mother)

“My husband dropped me off there with my two babies, my two year-old Niely, and Jacqueline, my four month-old baby. I took Jacqueline out of the car with her car seat, and Niely, I took her walking.”

Before meeting her mother inside, Olivia needed to use the rest room. She finally found a portable bathroom. Finding it too cramped and dirty, she made a decision that would lead to tragedy:

“Jacqueline couldn’t fit inside, so I just took my two year-old, Niely, inside the rest room ’cause she could have walked away if I left her outside. I was in the rest room, like, for a minute, when I came out, Jacqueline wasn’t there anymore.”

Hoping that her mother had taken the baby, Olivia rushed into the swap meet:

“I felt more upset and more nervous when I saw my mom was by herself. She didn’t have the baby. And that’s when I felt I was going to die. I mean, I just–I didn’t know what to do.”

After 20 minutes of searching booth to booth, the police were called. According to Sgt. Mark Lucas of the Avondale Police Department, they immediately sealed off the swap meet:

“There was an officer stationed at all the exits and along the fence line. And as cars were leaving, we would check the vehicles as they left. As people were leaving the side exits through the gates, we would go ahead and check them, make sure they weren’t carrying an infant or had a car-carrier.”

Witnesses reported a suspicious woman lurking around the rest-room shortly before the kidnapping and a vehicle speeding away moments after the incident. The vehicle is described as a  red, full-size, (possibly Ford) Pick up truck. According to the website “25missingpersons,” authorities have not yet connected the vehicle to the abduction.

To see a small composite sketch photo of the unknown suspect please click: Charley Project.

Witnesses description of the woman matched and a sketch of the woman was made, but she has yet to be identified.

But despite police standing by exits, the baby was never rescued and her family remains heartbroken.

Many people have had their own theories and assumptions, one being, that the kidnapper was a female who couldn’t have children of her own and desperately wanted a child and jumped at the first opportunity to steal another mother’s baby to raise as her own. Police list her possible locations as “National” however, she could be ANYWHERE and authorities are hoping that somebody is alert and recognizes the child who will be turning thirteen on January 14, 2013. The most identifying characteristic is the heart-shaped birthmark on her arm.

National Center for Missing & Exploited Children came out with an age-progressed photo of what Jacqueline might of looked like at age 6, today, she would be 12-years-old.
