Robert Wiles, then 26, was employed by a family owned Toledo-based business, National Flight Services, which is an aircraft maintenance company. He was a business development manager at the company’s branch and on April 1, 2008 he was working one of his shifts at Lakeland-Linder Regional Airport in Tampa, Florida when he suddenly disappeared. A co-worker told authorities he last seen Wiles at approximately 6:30PM and surveillance cameras show no sign of him after that time.

Wiles’ car was located abandoned in the parking lot at the family business, and he had missed a flight from Orlando to Dallas scheduled the day after his disappearance which immediately raised concerns.

robert-wilesA few days after Wiles went missing his parents, Thomas and Pamela Wiles in Ohio received a ransom letter demanding $750,000. The note was signed “Group X” and was emailed to them. His parents followed the notes instructions but no further demands were ever made.

According to reports, Wiles father had purchased kidnapping insurance for his company for the sum of $750,000 back in 2006, two years prior to his son’s disappearance. This indicates that whomever was responsible knew that information.

Authorities gathered enough evidence to arrest Stobert Lindell Holt, also known as Toby Holt, and on January 31, 2012 he was found guilty of manslaughter, extortion, and writing a threatening letter in connection with Wiles’ disappearance. However, Wiles has not been found.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation in Tampa, FL are seeking any information that will lead to the recovery of Robert Wiles.

Foul play is suspected.

Unsolved Disappearance of a Framingham College Student Still Cold Thirteen Years Later

angel_torresFull Name: Angel Antonio Torres
Nickname(s): Tony
Missing since: 1999
Missing From: Biddeford, Maine
Lived In: Denmark, ME
Age Then: 21
Age Now: 34
Race: Hispanic Sex: Male
Height: 5’8″ Weight: 150 pounds
Hair: Brown Eyes: Brown
Jewelry: A gold necklace with a cross pendant

Angel Torres, called “Tony” by many, was a Framingham College Student who lived in Denmark, ME when he went missing over twelve years ago after a night out with friends. According to those friends, they were in the Old Orchard Beach / down Biddeford / OOB area before dropping Tony off in Denmark at 2AM on May 21, 1999. They said he was looking for a ride to North Conway, NH.

Tony’s mother, Ramona Torres, last spoke to her son on the phone on May 19, 1999.

On May 24, 1999 Tony’s girlfriend called Ramona and told her Tony never showed up for his first day of work at a restaurant in Barre, ME. Ramona called police later that evening when she failed to get in touch with him.

Family as well as police believe Tony met with foul play however, they have no body or evidence to prove that theory.

Tony’s father, Narciso Torres said his son’s disappearance may be connected to individuals in the Saco, ME area. He said a group of unidentified people involved in criminal activity, who were not friends with his son, frequented the same parties and may no something.

“I think Tony knew them through other people. Tony may have been aware of crimes these people committed,” he said, possibly including the unsolved murder of a Maine teenager earlier that year.

“He was murdered and disposed of, but it’s not going to be solved unless someone comes forward,” he said.

A Maine State Police spokesman said he has no evidence the two cases are connected.

Ramona described Tony, who is her oldest son out of 3 boys, as a very social young man who enjoyed the company of woman and playing sports. She said he would call family regularly but the calls stopped suddenly. This is highly uncharacteristic of their beloved son and they immediately knew something was wrong. They have set up a scholarship in his name at Bonny Eagle High School where Tony attended and graduated from.

Tony was declared legally dead several years after his disappearance. His case remains unsolved.

A reward of $5,000 is being offered for anyone with information leading to the arrest and conviction of the suspect(s) involved.

Debora G. Moody Disappeared From Her Long County Mobile Home In The Winter of 2007

debora-gail-moodyClassified: Missing
Full Name: Debora Gail DeLoach Moody
Missing From: Ludowici, Long County, Georgia
Birthdate: April 22,1965
Missing Date: Tue, 12/04/2007
Age Then: 42
Age Now: 47
Race: White
Sex: Female
Weight: 116
Height: 5′ 6″
Hair: Brown
Eyes: Brown
Scars/Marks: Has a scar on her right leg extending from her right ankle to her knee, and a surgical scar on her neck due to neck surgery a couple of months prior to her disappearance
Other: Debora wears prescription glasses

Debora Moody has been missing for over five years. She was last seen at her mobile home on Smiley Street off of Highway 196 in Ludowici on the evening of December 4, 2007.

Debora was an employee at C & S Construction and was working on the morning she went missing. Later that day at approximately 3:45PM she went to visit a friend at Fort Stewart in Hinesville, GA and after that she went to pick-up another friend in Liberty County and the two went back to Debora’s home.

According to the friend, Debora was acting normal and nothing seemed amiss. She stayed at her home for roughly 2 hours before heading home. Shortly after, Debora seemingly vanished.

Less than a week later, on December 10, 2007, after failing to get in touch with her, a relative contacted Long County Sheriff’s Office and filed a missing persons report.

When police searched her home they found her purse in her house, her car sitting in the driveway and her dog on a leash in the front yard. There was no indication of foul play. Surprisingly, she didn’t take her purse and her dog in the front yard indicated she was planning to come back soon.

Family members including Debora’s parents and (grown) son lived in Florida not too far from the Georgia Border. They spent alot of time in Georgia assisting in the investigation and searching. They claim she was in the process of a divorce and described her as an independent woman who enjoyed the country life. They say it is very uncharacteristic of her to leave without warning and believe something happened to her.

Due to the lack of evidence her case is being listed as a missing person rather than a crime.

Some reports spell her first name as “Deborah” however, Georgia Bureau of Investigation spells her name as “Debora”. According to the GBOI website, she could be going by her middle name, Gail.

Her case is listed on America’s Most Wanted with the latest airing on February 23, 2008. Her episode is posted on AMW but is currently unavailable.

She will be turning 48 in several weeks.

derek_luekingIt’s been over one year since Derek Lueking, a Blount County man, went missing. According to media reports he was seen leaving the Microtel Inn and Suites in Cherokee, NC on the morning of March 17, 2012 in his white Ford Escape. That same vehicle was discovered abandoned at the Great Smoky Mountains National Park near the Tennessee and North Caroline state line. While his vehicle was located at the Newfound Gap area, no one in and around the area could verify him being inside or outside the park.

Searches were conducted in the immediate area and according to The Daily Times a note was discovered in the missing man’s vehicle which read “Don’t try to follow me”.

However, Derek’s father had posted a letter regarding his son’s disappearance on Help Find Derek, a Facebook group created which has over 800 followers. The letter says;

MESSAGE FROM DEREK’S DAD………I know many of you have questions concerning Derek’s disappearance and have seen conflicting information in the news reports. I have put together the following information in the hopes of clarifying questions you may have.

Derek went missing Wednesday March 14th from his home in Louisville Tennessee. Over the next two days he purchased over $1000 in camping supplies from Bass Pro Shop, Knifeworks and Coleman’s. We believe he stayed at the Motel 6 on the 14th, the Smokemont Campground in the Park on the 15th and the Microtel Hotel in Cherokee on the 16th. His car was found March 17th at 8:30am at Newfound Gap in the Smoky Mountains after family saw him leave the Microtel Hotel alone in Cherokee, North Carolina through video footage at 4:00am. A note stating only “Don’t Look For Me” was found in his car along with wallet and car key. The note was not addressed to anyone, so it could have been for us or the rangers.

The Great Smoky Mountain Park Service have never quit searching for Derek as they repelled down some high cliffs March 29th and did not find anything. The Rangers, Park employee’s, volunteer’s and Trail runner continue to look for him. Rangers are also still looking into the investigation aspect of this case following up purchases he made and trying to find out if there are any other significant clues in the recent past. We are extremely grateful for their continued efforts.

Derek was a fan of the survivalist Bear Gryll’s TV show and theoretically he did have the necessary supplies to live in the woods for a long period of time, but he did not take all the camping gear he purchased. We believe he had at least a backpack, a waterproof watch, a Bear Grylls survival tool pack (including a multi tool, small flashlight, firestarter rod), a Gerber pack axe, Several pages of a military survival manual, a knife sharpener, a compass/thermometer, 100’ of black parachute cord, a head lamp, pocket knife, IPod Touch and some granola bars. He also purchased additional supplies from Wal-Mart for cash (5 empty bags were found in the car with opened packaging listing Wal-Mart), but we have not been able to confirm what he purchased. Appalachian trail hikers who have talked to the family have said that Derek could survive for a long time with the supplies he had.

Searchers have hiked hundreds of miles of trails the weeks after his disappearance which included using multiple dog sent trackers, three different days using helicopters, and one night helicopter. Unfortunately no significant clues were found leading to Derek, but Rangers still believe he is in the park somewhere possibly off trail.

The Park Service initially asked our family not to search directly for Derek to avoid contaminating clues and wanted trained park service searcher on the trails, so we handed out flier with Derek’s picture to everyone who hit the trails. As the Park Service’s direct search wound down we started. Our family, and friends along with other concerned people gathered the 24th and 25th of March to search for Derek. A total of over 60 people show up to hike and hand out flyers. Hikers that showed up hiked a total of about 175 miles of trail and people handed out about 3000 flyers to people in the park and the surrounding areas.

There is still the possibility that Derek is not in the Great Smoky National Park, so we would like to make sure the information about him is available to the public.

The family has not given up home on finding Derek and is doing anything in their power to work with and help the rangers who are investigating as well as trying to make sure the information is out in the world as well. There is a Facebook page Find Derek Lueking that the family is keeping up to inform anyone interested about the case. Please help spread word to anyone hiking in the Smoky Mountain area to keep an eye out for Derek.

Find Derek Lueking is another Facebook page created by loved ones which have over 2,000 followers. There are many photos of Derek on the Facebook page. Each photo shows a smiling, outgoing, young man. It also shows a man who enjoys nature and being outdoors.
