Thursday, January 31, 2013 will be a typical day for many, just another end to another month. But for the family of Unique Harris, a missing mother of two boys who will be turning 27, this will be the third birthday without her

Missing Since: October 9, 2010 from Washington, DC
Classification: Endangered Missing
Date Of Birth: January 31, 1986
Age Then: 24 Age Now: 27
Height: 5’7″ Weight: 125 pounds
Hair Color: Brown; Dark brown roots, auburn strands.
Eye Color: Brown
Race: Black Gender: Female
Distinguishing Characteristics: Tattoo on left arm and
back. Unique (upper right arm), Richard & U’andre’ (lower back).
Pierced ears. Mole on upper lip. Learning disability.
Clothing: White shirt and gray pants.
Jewelry: Matching gold necklace & earrings with garnet
red beads. Sterling silver necklace with safety pin clasp.

Unique Harris was 24-years-old when she was last seen in her Washington D.C. apartment on October 9, 2010 with her children and her young cousin, Talaya Reed. The four of them were eating popcorn and watching a movie and Unique was relaxing in comfortable clothes which included a white t-shirt and grey pants, believed to be sweatpants. When the movie was over Unique put her two boys to bed, then went to bed herself. Her cousin, who also stayed the night, went to bed as well.

The following morning at approximately 9am, her cousin woke up and noticed Unique was missing and called her mother to tell her and ask if she had spoken to her. Her mother said she had not talked to her since the day before.

At first they weren’t too concerned, thinking she may have went to the store but the more time that went by, the more worried her family became.

Unique’s grandfather, Richard Harris, stopped by the apartment later that afternoon where he came across the two children and cousin, but Unique still wasn’t home. He went into her bedroom and found her glasses lying on a pillow. This discovery immediately turned Richard from worried to frantic because Unique cannot see without her glasses and would have never left them behind. Police in Washington DC were then called but despite media attention, searches and interviews, the missing mother’s whereabouts remain a complete mystery.

Family and loved ones miss her dearly, with one family member, a cousin, writing in March, 2012 on Facebook:

“Cuzzin where ever u are We Love You So Much!!! The devil is busy but we will not stop praying …we all need you.”

Photo of Valencia Harris, Unique’s devastated mother who’s been searching for her daughter for over two years. Richard has a tiny mole above the right corner of his mouth. Sometimes Valencia touches it, lightly, the way she used to touch the mole on his mother’s face, before she disappeared. The missing mother’s other child, U’Andre’, shares his mother’s wiggling feet, the ones Valencia used to dress up in white booties. Booties she never threw away and still has today, barely unscuffed, at her Temple Hills home. Her daughter never scuffed them because Valencia never put her down as a baby, because when she was born, Valencia looked at her and thought: “I can’t believe I made this. I made this, this special baby.” — However, for over two years, she’s been mourning the possibility that she may never she her special baby ever again.

I am not able to post videos at the moment, for some reason. However, click Valencia Harris plea for help in finding her missing daughter to watch a YouTube video of Unique’s mother pleaded for help in locating her missing mother. Video was uploaded by Black And Missing

University of Missouri Student Missing For Almost One Year

Photo of Phoenix Coldon taken the same year of her disappearance

Short description: Missing since 12/18/11 in unincorporated St. Louis, Missouri North County (Spanish Lake area). Her car was found running near the intersection of 9th Street & St. Clair Avenue in East St. Louis, Illinois, keys in the ignition, motor running. She has not been seen or heard from since.

Full story: Phoenix Coldon, then 23, a college student who attended the University of Missouri when she went missing on December 18, 2011 in St. Louis. She was last seen in her vehicle, pulling out of the driveway at her family home around noon. A few hours later, around 3p.m. her 1998 four-door Chevrolet Blazer was found abandoned at the intersection of 9th Street and St. Clair Avenue in East St. Louis, Illinois (Spanish Lake Area) with the engine still running, it was impounded and it took authorities two weeks to connect the car to the young woman’s disappearance.

Phoenix’s parents, Goldia and Lawrence Coldon are devastated and have for the past eleven months they have been desperately seeking any information about their daughter whereabouts. They said the last time they saw their daughter, she was talking on her cell phone, then she backed out of the driveway and drove away, but none of Phoenix’s friends claim they were on the phone with her at that time and the caller on the other end remains unknown.

Phoenix’s case is very similar to the disappearance of Stacey English, 36, who went missing in Atlanta. on December 26, 2011, one week after Phoenix disappeared. Both woman’s vehicles were found abandoned and running less than 20 miles from their home. One of the last people to see Stacey was Robert Kirk, a friend from St. Louis, and although the two were not together, Robert was currently living with Stacey at her condo at the time she went missing, the two had gotten into  a verbal altercation and Stacey kicked him out. He has returned to St. Louis and Police say he has been cooperative and they have not named him or anyone else a suspect in Stacey’s disappearance.

INDIANAPOLIS, IN — Joshua Swalls, 22, has been missing for two weeks  and his family and loved ones are desperately trying to locate him.

The last time the Avon man was seen or heard from, was on Sunday, November 3, 2012 when he went to hangout with friends. He was last seen leaving a friend’s apartment at the Lakewood Lodge Apartments in the 2600 block of Timberly Drive (65th & Keystone Ave.) in Indianapolis, Indiana. He hasn’t been seen or heard from since and according to the friend he was with, Joshua was drinking prior to his disappearance and he left his friend’s apartment intoxicated, leaving his cell-phone behind.  The following morning his vehicle was still parked in the parking lot of Lakewood Apartments.

Searches have been conducted in and around the complex and the Indianapolis Fire Department dive team searched a retention pond near 65th Street and Keystone Avenue after the missing man’s family located his shoe near the pond at the apartment complex. The dive team found no additional evidence and called off the search an hour later. Update’s regarding the search hasn’t been posted as of yet.

Please help find Joshua Swalls

Joshua has many loved ones and they’re all concerned about his safety.

A comment posted on the internet from a family member reads:

The hardest part of the day is night. It means we have to stop searching, it means we go back home to again realize you are not there and this nightmare continues, it means the your little sis is going to ask for you again, it means we have to deal with the silence and emptiness, it means we will wake up to start all over again, it means we will cry thousand more tears, it means we will feel we failed you, it means once again we will ask God to watch over you and that we only want him to babysit you and pray that he has not called a beautiful angel home because God doesn’t need YOU…WE DO!!!!
Sweet dreams our son as we say goodnight. God you keep him strong, warm and safe again tonight.

As Joshua’s mother was out walking this past Sunday, she found a copy of The Invitation New Testament lying in her path. The book was open when she found it and she began reading it. This is the reading she shared with everyone who attended the candlelight vigil last night:

Let no one deceive you with empty arguments, for because of these things God’s wrath is coming on the disobedient. Therefore, do not become their partners. For you were once darkness, but now you are light in The Lord. Walk as children of the light. For the fruit of the light results in all goodness, righteousness and truth discerning what is pleasing to The Lord. Don’t participate in the fruitless works of the darkness, but instead expose them. For it is shameful even to mention what is done by them in secret. Everything exposed by the light is made clear.

Reconstruction of murdered man found in Dade City, Florida in the Winter of ’89

11/06/12, DADE CITY, FLORIDA  — Forensics experts from University of South Florida have teamed up with the Pasco County Sheriff’s office to recreate the face of an unidentified “John Doe” who was located deceased near an orange grove in the Winter of 1989. The reconstruction of this individual is fairly new despite the fact that his identity has remained unknown for over twenty-three years.

The remains of ‘John Doe’ were found on January 24, 1989 by an artifact hunter in Dade City, FL and authorities believe he may have been dead for up to two years prior to his discovery. According to Pasco County Police, he had been shot twice in the head and when his skeletal remains were discovered he was nothing more than bones and clothes, weathered by years in the open field.

Shoes: Together, they have been able to ascertain that John Doe was a white male between 30 and 50 Years old. He was 5'7

John Doe was wearing cowboy boots (pictured above) when he was discovered in an open field near an orange grove.

He is described as a Caucasian adult male between the ages of 30 and 50 Years old, 5’7” inches tall with long    auburn hair. He also had several tattoos which included a Confederate flag, a Nazi symbol and the initials HFD and had a pair of brown Givenchy glasses on him.

He was wearing a ‘Black Hills of South Dakota’ sleeveless shirt with a Native American picture on the back Indian on back and wore weathered light brown cowboy boots with mismatched socks, one of the socks were white with red stripes and the other was grey with blue strips.

He was found wearing blue mechanic-type pants with the name RANDY labelled on it, which could be a big clue in identifying him.

‘We’re really looking for the public’s involvement in this case because that’s what’s going to solve it,’ Detective David Boyer from the Pasco County Police Department.

‘There’s somebody out there that once they see this photo, it’s going to bring back some memories,’ Pasco Sheriff Nocco said. ‘Somebody knows something out there.’
