Samantha Smith was last seen on November 5, 2006 at a house she shared with her boyfriend, Walt Shockley, on 108 Leila St in Clinton, SC.
According to police Samantha and Shockley attended church earlier that morning and then went back to their residence. Sometime during the afternoon an argument broke out between the two of them and according to Shockley she left, taking only her purse with her.
Samantha attended college at Piedmont Tech and was studying to become an art teacher but stopped attending after her November 5th disappearance. Although she suffered from depression her family and loved ones doesn’t believe it was severe enough to cause her to hurt herself.
Her mother, Rebia Kinard, is desperate for answers. Her health is declining and all she wants to do is bring her daughter home.
“She had a very busy life. She never was still, and if she wasn’t at school or she wasn’t working, she was hiking or she was riding horses.” said Kinard.
Choking back tears, her stepfather, Rodney Kinard, told News 4 in an earlier interview, “It’s hell — living every day not knowing where she’s at.”
“We took all our savings and everything else we had to try to find her. Still, today, she hasn’t been found” said the Kinard’s in a 2007 interview.
Many suspect her boyfriend of holding the truth however, without a body no charges can be pressed and her case remains unsolved.
