Arrest in 1993 kidnap-murder of 10-year-old Florida girl

An arrest has been made in the 1993 kidnap-murder of Andrea Parsons, who was 10-years-old when she disappeared in Port Salerno, Fla. / WPEC (CBS) MARTIN COUNTY, Fla. – Police have made an arrest in the case of Andrea Gail Parsons, a 10-year-old girl who went missing 19 years ago in Port Salerno, Fla. Chester Duane Price, a 42-year-old convicted felon, is charged with first degree murder and kidnapping of a child under the age of 13, CBS affiliate WPEC reports.

After being charged, Price implicated Claude Davis, a long-time suspect investigated and previously arrested in the case. Detectives have allege that the two abducted and disposed of the 10-year-old’s body together, the Palm Beach Post reports.

In 1993, Davis was arrested and charged with false imprisonment of Parsons, but the charge was later dropped due to lack of evidence. It is unclear if Davis has also been re-arrested or charged at this time.

Andrea Parsons was reported missing on July 11, 1993, at 11:06 p.m. by her mother, who had just come home from work. She had been left at home with her mother’s boyfriend. When the girl became bored, the boyfriend let her leave to walk to the store and a friend’s house, the newspaper says. Neighbors say they saw the girl leaving her home around 5:45 p.m., WPEC reports.

Parsons’ body was never found.

In 2001 the case was reopened by the Martin Co. Sherriff’s Office, which determined they had enough evidence to seek a grand jury indictment of Price, WPEC reports.

Martin County Sheriff Robert Crowder told TCPalm.com that police “were aware of [Price] from the beginning of the investigation… He was one of our people of interest.”

Price is being held in jail without bond and is scheduled to appear in court Friday, according to The Palm Beach Post.

UPDATE: 11/27/12 – LA PLATA COUNTY, CO — Mother of missing Colorado boy, Dylan Redwine, believes estranged husband might have done something:

Missing Dylan Redwine Case Update: Vallecito, Colorado: The mother of 13-year-old boy Dylan Redwine, who disappeared a week ago during a court ordered visit to his father, fears that the dad may have done something to “remove Dy

lan from the situation.”

Dylan Redwine was last seen at the home of his father, Mark Redwine, when he vanished seven days ago.

“I was married to Mark for a lot of years, and I know the way he reacts to things,” Elaine Redwine told ABC News. “If Dylan maybe did or said something that wasn’t what Mark wanted to hear, I’m just afraid of how Mark would have reacted.”

Elaine and Mark were divorced and live about five hours away from each other, ABC News affiliate KMGH reports. Dylan was staying at his father’s home because of a court order granting his father visitation rights for Thanksgiving.

Elaine Redwine told ABC News she believes her ex-husband was upset that she was the court-mandated primary custodian of their son.

“I don’t think Mark treats him very well,” Elaine Redwine said. “I would not put it past Mark to have done something to remove Dylan from the situation. You know, like ‘if I can’t have him, nobody will.'”

Dylan had been with his dad in Vallecito, Colo., for just one day before he went missing. Mark Redwine told police that his son was in his home when he left to run some errands at 7:30 a.m. When he returned four hours later, the boy was missing.

Elaine Redwine told ABC News she was having a difficult time getting in touch with her ex-husband about their son.

“He hasn’t had any contact with us. [My older son] tried to get a hold of him by texting him, and he wouldn’t respond,” she said. “I just find it odd that at a time like this, he would be so evasive.”

Mark Redwine declined to speak to ABC News.

Police say they are considering a number of possibilities, including abduction and the possibility that Dylan ran away.

“Foul play is definitely something we are looking at, but we’re hoping it’s a runaway case and that Dylan will show up and will be fine,” La Plata Sheriff’s Office spokesman Dan Bender said. “Because we don’t have any clues that point in any particular direction, we have to consider every possibility.”

Dylan’s mother and older brother both insist Dylan wouldn’t run away without contacting them, or if he did run away from his dad’s home, he would have gone to them.

“When he was afraid in any situation, he knew he could call me and I would drop everything and go out there, first thing,” Dylan’s brother, Cory Redwine, 21, told ABC News. “He knew that me, my mom, my step-dad, any of us, if he called us and said, ‘I need your help,’ he knew we’d be there.”

Hundreds of people have turned up to help search for Dylan, but so far police say they are no closer to finding him.

“We had people in the air, on horseback, on ATVs, search dogs, and we got no clues from any of that,” Bender said.

Dive teams are searching nearby Vallecito Lake using a high-powered sonar gun, after searches this weekend revealed nothing, according to KMGH. Search teams are also combing the shoreline around the lake.

Elaine Redwine told ABC News she thinks somebody must know something, and she hopes they come forward.

“Vallecito is a small community. If anybody has seen anything or knows anything, no matter how big or small it seems, please tell us,” Redwine said. “Everything right now is crucial to bringing my little boy home.”

Redwine is described as 5 feet tall, 105 pounds, blond hair, blue eyes and fair complexion. He was last seen wearing a black Nike shirt, black basketball nylon shorts, black Jordan tennis shoes and a two-tone blue and white Duke Blue Devils baseball hat. Anyone who knows the whereabouts of this missing child is asked to please call 970-385-2900.

LA PLATACOUNTY, CO — Colorado boy missing for over a week, searches called off as authorities continue to investigate:

Dylan Redwine was last seen on November 19, 2012 in Bayfield, Colorado. visiting his father, Mark Redwine.

Redwine told investigators that Dylan was at his house on County Road 500 when he left to do some errands at about 7:30 a.m. Monday. Mark said Dylan was gone when he returned to the house at about 11:30 a.m. and that’s when he contacted La Plata County Sheriff’s Office and filed a missing persons report.

Dylan hasn’t been seen or heard from since the visit.

Cadaver dogs picked up the 13-year-old’s scent, which lead them near a local lake.  Seven divers from New Mexico State Police, along with over 30 volunteers, searched Vallecito Lake through the weekend after the dogs discovery but nothing of significance was located and authorities have now called off the search as the investigation continues.

New revelations are surfacing that their was tension between Dylan’s mother, Elaine Redwine, and her estranged husband (Dylan’s father) who had a bitter visitation agreement.

“I don’t think Mark treats him very well,” says Elaine Redwine, “I would not put it past Mark to have done something to remove Dylan from the situation. You know, like ‘if I can’t have him, nobody will.'”

Elaine believes her estranged husband had something to do with his disappearance, claiming that the man didn’t treat him very well among other things. She also alleged that he may have “done something” to the 13-year-old as if to assert his ownership over the child as opposed to his mother. It’s been well established in the media that the parents of the missing boy are going through a bitter custodial dispute and that Dylan was only visiting his father on court ordered visitation. So for her to accuse the father of the boy of being involved with his disappearance casts a whole new element of negativity over the entire case. Click here for full article.

Dylan’s mother and his older brother Cory have been in La Plata County since receiving word of Dylan’s disappearance and have been working closely with searchers and investigators

He was last seen wearing a black Nike shirt, black basketball nylon shorts, black Jordan tennis shoes, and a two-tone blue and white Duke Blue Devils baseball hat.

In 1992 Joanna moved into the Maison De Ville Apartments in Pensacola with a roommate, Liseth Nelson. All was going well until the Night of November 20, 1992 when Joanna and her Liseth decided to go to a party.

While at the party, Liseth started feeling unwell and decided to head back to the apartment. Joanna was enjoying herself and stayed behind at the party, telling her roommate that she’d catch a ride home with friends, who were also at the party.

The last known person with Joanna that night was an acquaintance, James Gibson, who later told police he dropped Joanna off at her apartment after having taken home two other people from the party. James Gibson is currently serving a 35 year sentence on a kidnapping and rape conviction in an unrelated case.

Joanna Otto has been missing for exactly twenty years and one week and her whereabouts remain unknown. She would be 39 years old this year.

Andrew Richardson was not yet two when he was abducted in Milwaukee, WI by his biological non-custodial mother, Mariana Saldivar, in the Summer of 2007.  The little boy was just a toddler not yet two years old at the time he was kidnapped. His father, Trevor Richardson had custody of him and misses him dearly. On April 8, 2009, almost two years later, a felony warrant for Custodial interference was issued for Saldivar. She may have taken Andrew and travelled to Mexico, her home Country.

Andrew’s father, Trevor Richardson, misses his son dearly. He wrote out to the public saying:

My name is Trevor Richardson and my young son was abducted by his mother and she fled to the Mexico where she is originally from. She abducted our child during the divorce proceedings and I was exercising my custody rights when she fled the country. Our son Andrew was 17 months old when she fled and I have not been able to see him since his abduction.

I have since filed an application for his immediate return though the US State Department using the Hague Convention as the legal tool in Mexico. Mexico is a signatory member as well as the US and this has given me hope that I might eventually gain his rightful return. I have experienced a lot during this process and I want to help other left behind parents navigate through this horrible experience and hopefully minimize the pain they are feeling throughout this ordeal.

I have been granted sole legal custody and also full placement in the US which helps my case in Mexico. This is an important step for every left behind parent and one the courts will hopefully in their cases.

I will use this site to post articles and also to provide help, support, and tips to other left behind parents in the US or other countries. I will also this site to promote advocacyfor left behind parents with our State Department and local officials.

Click Mexico Abduction to view Trevor Richardson’s blog he created.

Andrew may go by the first name of Andres and the last name Farah. He would have turned 6-years-old this year. At the time of his disappearance he had eight baby teeth, four in the upper jaw and four in the lower.

Marina would be turning 36 this year

Although Andrew was born in Mexico, he is a United States citizen. His whereabouts are unknown and this case remains unsolved.
