SHAINA ASHLEY KIRKPATRICKAge progressed photo showing what Shaina may have looked liked at 7 years old. She will be turning 14 in a few weeks.

Exactly one week ago today marked the 12th anniversary since the disappearance of Shaina Kirkpatrick, then 1, and her newborn baby sister, Shausha.

Kimyala Henson, the mother of both girls, had planned to take them on vacation to Sacramento, California and they were being joined by Henson’s friend, Christina Mayer and a man whom Mayer introduced as her husband, Curtis. They left their Portland home on April 4, 2001 enroute to Sacramento and although they are believed to have made it to California it is unclear if they made it to Sacramento.

It has been confirmed that on April 5, 2001, less than 24 hours after leaving their Portland home Henson and her daughters had travelled to Redding, California and were seen at Shasta’s Lodge with both Mayer and Oehring. This was the last confirmed sighting of the two girls and the last time their mother would be seen alive.

Henson’s murdered remains were located on April 29, 2001 in a Nevada desert but Shaina and Shausha’s whereabouts are still unknown.

Steven Kirkpatrick, the boyfriend of Henson and the father of both Shaina and Shausha had told authorities that both he and Henson had never met Curtis prior to April 2001 and police would soon learn that ‘Curtis’ was in fact Frank Oehring, a fugitive from Missouri who had a warrant out for his arrest at the time due to attempting to murder his ex-wife. According to his former wife Henson had led a group of Satanists and Mayer was a member.

Just over two weeks after both girls disappeared, on April 20, 2001, both Mayer and Oehring were discovered in a vehicle at a rest stop in Collier County, FL. Mayer was dead upon discovery after being shot to death and Oehring was near death suffering from a gun shot wound to the head. He died just days later at the hospital.

It was determined that Oehring was responsible in what police have called a ‘murder/suicide’. He also left behind letters detailing their plan to steal Henson’s birth certificate. Mayer had assumed the murdered woman’s identity in Las Vegas, NV shortly after they met up with her in Oregon. Nothing in the letter indicated they were responsible for the murder of Henson nor the disappearance of her two daughters however, common sense and the circumstantial evidence points to them and police believe they had something to do with it.

They two girls are considered at risk.

Shausha-Latine-Hensonshausha-hensonBoth photos are of Shausha as an infant. The first one is a photo taken at the hospital after her January 2001 birth, and the second photo shows Shausha as a 2 month old, her age when she went missing. Artists were unable to create an age progressed photo due to her age and lack of details.

Oregon Teen, Bedria Williams, Found SAFE!

bedria_williams

Feb 9, 2013 UPDATE — Bedria Williams was found safe, according to Missing Bedia Williams Facebook page which is handled by the missing teen’s family.

An update status posting 5 hours ago;

FOUND!!! Bedria was found safe early this morning. The search is cancelled. I want to thank each and everyone of you for lending your help, for praying, and for dedicating endless hours to bring my sister home safe. Please continue to keep Bedria and my family in your prayers as we begin to heal. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. ♥

___________

Feb 2, 2013 — Oregon Teenager, Bedria Williams, Missing Since January 11, 2013

Bedria Williams is a 15-year-old teenager who is ran away from her Creswell home in Oregon on January 11, 2013. According to family, she was last seen in Sacramento, California eight days later on January 19th, and her family has received a phone call about a possible sighting in Michigan, although the sighting in Michigan is believed to be unconfirmed.

She hasn’t been seen or heard from since January 19, 2013 and her family is very worried. They believe she may have travelled back to Oregon or possibly Washington, but may be anywhere.

The missing teen’s family is reaching out to the public for help in locating Bedria.  The teen’s sister has created a Facebook page Missing Bedria Williams and the teen’s sister regularly leaves status updates reaching out to her sister and the public for help. One of the status updates is a message from their family to the public –

Thank you to each and every one of you who has shown us support. Today my family wanted to share what little we do know about Bedria’s case so that it may help us find her. We are continually fighting each day to find her and bring her home, we love her so much!

After leaving school 1/2 way through the day we believe she traveled to Portland, Oregon on the night of 1/11/13, where she may have made contact with an ex-con. From there, it is clear from a series of phone calls that she somehow made her way to Sacramento, California – My Step-Mother received a restricted phone call from a woman who said she saw Bedria in Michigan, she also said that Bedria was safe but didn’t want to come home. We were able to trace the phone call and found out that it was a Sacramento phone number, the phone call was not made in Michigan. It is clear this woman was lying. The police did not make contact with this woman so my father called this same Sacramento phone number and they told him that Bedria was with them. While attempting to go to Sacramento to find Bedria, my Dad received a phone call from the same number and was told that he was never going to see his daughter again. The Sacramento Police looked for Bedria at the house where the phone number was registered, but she was not there.
This was on 1/19/2013 and we haven’t heard anything since. There is a very real problem with sex trafficking in Sacramento, and we are extremely worried that she will get caught up in it.
I have contacted all of the news stations in both Portland and Eugene Oregon, as well as the stations in Sacramento. So far I have not been able to get our story aired on any station. I was told that they do not cover stories like Bedria’s because she ran away. 4 Days after the news station told me this, they aired a story about a 14-year-old boy who had just run away.

Please help by continually posting this story and Bedria’s page so that we can find her, bring her home, and start the healing the process.

WE LOVE YOU BEDRIA!

Bedria is described as a fifteen-year-old African-American female, 5’2” tall, weighing approximately 124 pounds. She has black hair and brown eyes.

Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Bedria Williams is asked by her family to please contact: Sacramento Police Department – (916) 264-5471 or the Sacramento Detective Unit – (916) 808-0560 (Anyone with a possible sighting is asked to called 911 as well.)

An Oregon teenager attends a county fair and never returns home

NCMC600424c1

Pictured: Jeremy Doland Bright

On August 14, 1986 Jeremy Bright, then, 14, went to the Coos County Fair in Oregon, and vanished off the face of the earth.

Fast forward…

Jeremy grew up in Myrtle Point, OR and that’s where his family and friends lived, but when his parents separated he and his sister moved a hundred miles away to Grants Pass, where his mother worked and attended school.

Every Summer the Coos County Fair rolls into Myrtle Point, Oregon.  For many, it’s a weeklong celebration.  To 14-year-old Jeremy Bright and his 9-year-old sister S’te (pronounced “Ess-tee”),  it was one of the highlights of each year and they rarely missed it. Because distance would have been a problem, their stepfather, Orville “Ole” Gulseth of Myrtle Point, had offered to take them in for a week that summer but he would need to get approval from his mother, Diane Beatty, now 55.

Beatty said yes. Something she will regret for the next 25 years.

“He was here for a week during the fair,” said Beatty during a 2009 interview at her Eastside home as she pored over photos of her missing son from a time when Pac-Man and Van Halen were all the rage. “He was only here for a week. If I would have said, ‘No,’ about him coming up to the fair, I would still have him.”

“Instead of them veggin’ in Grants Pass for a week, while I worked and went to school, I thought that would be a great little trip for them,” “I have regretted it ever since.” said Beatty.

It was a Thursday on August 16, 1986 and Jeremy decided to bring his best friend, Johnny, with him to the fair. The two would go off while his little sister walked around the fair with their step-father.

Around 4:45pm., Jeremy made a long distance call to his mother to check in with her and to let her know that he was having a good time at the fair. She told Jeremy she’d be back in Myrtle Point in two days to pick him and his sister up.

Five hours later at 9:40 PM, Jeremy showed up at a local tavern owned by his grandmother.  There he met his stepfather and asked to borrow some money. It was the last time Jeremy was ever seen by his family.

Two days later, Diane arrived in Myrtle Point as planned.   She went to pick up Jeremy at his stepfather’s house, but her son never showed up:

“I went in and on the TV set was his house keys from our Grants Pass apartment and his wallet and his new watch that he told me he’d bought. I knew when I found those things that he was around somewhere because he wouldn’t leave without them.”

On Saturday night, Diane was worried enough to contact the police. At first, Sergeant Steve Dalton of the Coos County Sheriff’s Department believed Jeremy had simply run away:

“He did like the fair. There was the thought that perhaps he was hiding out, intending to leave with the fair people and I’ve explored that possibility in every way that I can think of. However in this particular case, I’ve talked to family members and friends of him that knew him well. And he was just not, from what I can learn, the type of kid who would have struck out on his own.”

On Sunday, August 17, 1986, the fair closed down. Myrtle Point was buzzing about Jeremy’s disappearance, and gradually, conflicting stories began to emerge. According to one rumor, Jeremy attended one of Myrtle Point’s many parties, and drank a beer laced with a powerful drug. Another story claimed that three older teenagers showed up at a local swimming hole and harassed Jeremy and his friends. According to Sergeant Dalton, this information came from a jailhouse informant:

“They subsequently took him to a cabin, maybe within ten miles of the Myrtle Point area, and attempted to nurse him back to health… he died as a result of that injury, either from loss of blood or from infection or what have you. That same source… indicated that his body would found within 200 feet of this cabin in a shallow grave.”

Police searched the area surrounding the cabin but found nothing. For Diane Bright, the rumors about her missing son were difficult to handle:

“All of them are hard to think about. Every time I’d hear a new one, I have nightmares for a week or so. The one that I hope is not what happened is one where he suffered for two weeks before he died and they buried his body, because the thought of him suffering for two weeks just makes me sick.”

Jeremy Bright has scars on his forehead and nose and a mole on his chin. The prime suspect in his disappearance recently died in prison, and there are no new leads. However the case is still open.

The Girl in The Box

Image

Photo of Colleen Stan also known as “The Girl in The Box”

Colleen Stan was a 20-year-old female who was abducted and forced as a sex-slave by a couple on May 19, 1977 while hitchhiking from her hometown of Eugene, Oregon to Red Bluff, California to visit a good friend who lived in Westwood. She had wanted to surprise her friend for her birthday, which was coming up soon and she was willing to travel the 400 miles to do so.

Of course Colleen knew that walking the 400 miles would be crazy. She figured she’d hitchhike down Interstate 5, which was very popular to do in the 70’s despite the obvious dangers.

She made good time, catching rides that took her pretty far along her way. By the afternoon, she had gotten 350 miles towards her destination to the town of Red Bluff and with less than 60 miles to go, she was actually going to be earlier then she initially anticipated.

She evaluated each person who stopped to offer rides to make sure they “appeared safe”, and had even turned down two potential rides when she did not feel right about them, so when a blue Dodge Colt stopped on the road with a man, woman and baby inside, Colleen was relieved and did not hesitate to get in the vehicle.

The couple introduced themselves as Cameron and Janice Hooker. They were young, clean-cut and friendly and Colleen remembered hoping into the backseat overjoyed.

“I was thanking my lucky stars,” she would later say in an interview.

Cameron Hooker (left) and Janice Hooker (right)

The Hookers were making friendly conversation, asking where she was heading, and Colleen was very comfortable until she noticed Cameron looking at her through the rare-view mirror, which gave her a bad gut feeling. But, despite her instincts and an opportunity to run while at a gas station restroom, she stayed and rationalized that man wouldn’t do anything to her in front of his wife and child and got back into the vehicle and they drove off.

They drove for another mile or so until Cameron appeared to make up his mind about something.

The Hookers mentioned that they were very close to some spectacular ice caves and they wanted to make a quick stop. A passive Colleen would have rather forgo the trip to see ice caves and gone straight to her friend’s home but she didn’t object and figured a quick stop wouldn’t hurt. She was already making good time, right?

Cameron drove down a dirt road that seemed to take them to the middle of nowhere and then stopped the car, turning the key to shut off the engine. His wife got out of the car holding the baby. Suddenly Colleen found a knife pointed against her throat. Cameron ordered her to put her hands above her head and asked her if she was going to do whatever he said. She froze in fear. She didn’t know what else to say except, “Yes.” He then handcuffed, blindfolded, bound, and gagged her.

He placed a large, metal-hinged box made out of plywood over Colleen’s head. It was heavy and had dense insulation in between its double walls, and a neck hole that near choked her.  The interior was carpeted, which impeded her ability to breathe. Wearing this, she could not eat, drink, hear, or see.

Cameron then covered her with something heavy which to Colleen, felt like her sleeping bag she brought with her.

She heard the car start back up again and sobbed to herself, wondering what was going to happen. After feeling the car stop for a few minutes, it started back up only to stop again a short time later.

The Hooker’s had taken their new victim to their home.

Google map showing the house that the Hooker’s lived and kept Colleen as a sex slave

Inside a house, Cameron removed the box that he’d placed over her head.  He then led Colleen down some steps into a dark cellar. He indicated that she was to stand on a Coleman ice chest and then told her to lift her hands over her head. Then he used a leather strap to tie her wrists to pipes. As he removed each item of her clothing, she felt him trembling.  She was still blindfolded, but she could sense that he was building up to something.  Uncomfortable as all of this was, it was nothing compared to what came next.

He removed the chest that was supporting her weight, and she hung there, suspended in the air.  Colleen kicked and screamed to be let down.  He then told her, in a sarcastic tone, to “go ahead and scream,” And told her that if she continued screaming that he will cut her vocal chords, like he did with past victims, leading her to believe she wasn’t the first. He then left her hanging in the downstairs cellar by herself.

He started to hit her with something that hurt, both front and back. Colleen shrieked out for help, but that only made him hit her more.  She realized he was using a whip.  He then left her hanging, with her tiptoes just barely brushing something.  She could see beneath the blindfold that a pornographic magazine lay on the floor, featuring a naked woman hung up just as she was.

Shortly after being tortured, His wife came downstairs and the both of them had sex right in front of Colleen, as some sort of ‘celebration’ for their new ‘sex-slave.’

After that, he made her sit inside another locking box, and when he closed it, she discovered that she could not move.  Then he placed the head box back on her head.  She was now completely immobilized and barely able to breathe.  She began to scream, drawing her captor back.  He placed a strap over her chest that constricted her breathing even more, forcing her to stop making noise.  Then he left her like that for a very long and frightening night. She thought she was going to die. Her simple wish that morning to surprise her friend and wish her happy birthday, had turned into the worst experience of her life, and it had only just begun.

She would spend the next seven years, until she was 27, kept against her will. Raped, tortured, abused, starved and kept in a box, humiliated and degraded to the point that she was considered brainwashed, and was too fearful to ask for help. She was made to wear the head-gear and gag daily and slept in “the box”, which kept her from seeing, hearing, eating, and reduced her capacity to breath.

The box, shown re-constructed as evidence during the trail of the Hookers

She was referred to as ”K” and had been so malnourished, her hair started falling out and she started losing a large amount of weight.

Elderly Man Missing From Oregon Since October 3, 2004

Photo of Glenn Warren Pennie, 56, taken on Christmas Day in 2002. Ten month’s before his disappearance.

Published October 28, 2012 POLK COUNTY, OREGON —

Glenn Warren Pennie, then 56, was last seen at his home at 14970 Airlie Road in Polk County by a neighbor, David Fetter, on the afternoon of Oct. 3, 2004 according to the Polk County Sheriff’s Office. Glenn was scheduled to be in Oakland, California on Oct. 5, 2004 for an estate hearing. He never showed up which raised flags.

On Oct. 4, a day before the hearing, Fetter called authorities and said the Toyota pickup Glenn was suppose to take on the trip to Oakland was still parked in his driveway. Police drove out to Glenn’s home the next day to find his vehicle, which was unlocked, still sitting in the driveway, Police went to his door, which was locked, and knocked. No answers. They did find his luggage and other travel items inside his unlocked truck. This raised even more flags.

The next day, on October 6, Glenn Pennie’s daughter, Christina Pennie of Portland, OR contacted authorities to file a missing persons report. She said her father never showed up for the court hearing in Oakland which was out of character.

Polk County Police stated back in 2004 that there was no evidence from cursory searches of Glenn’s residence that indicated foul play but they did say they we’re investigating his case as ”missing under suspicious circumstances.”

Roughly 30 Police Officers from Polk, Marion and Yamhill counties had conducted searches of Glenn Pennie’s property 11 miles south of Dallas. Community and private searches were also conducted to no avail.

Glenn has been missing for exactly eight years, twenty-five days. His case remains unsolved.

Glen Pennie, born March 28, 1948, would be 64-years-old as of October, 2012. He is described as a Caucasian male, with green-eyes,  5’11” tall, weighing approximately 200 pounds at the time of his disappearance. He also had brownish-grey’ing hair in Oct.2004.

The FBI is offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person(s) responsible for the kidnapping of Glenn Warren Pennie.

Anyone with information regarding this cold case, please contact: Polk County Sheriff’s Office at 503-623-9251.
