The George County Sheriff’s Department is asking for the public’s assistance in locating a man who has been missing since January.
Donovan Ray Cowart, 26, was last seen by family on January 13, 2013 in George County, Mississippi.
According to George County Sheriff Dean Howell, Cowart’s family made an official missing person’s report on Monday, March 18, 2013 after failing to get in touch with him.
It’s been over six weeks and now family has offered the public $3,000 for information that will lead investigators to the location of Cowart.
According to relatives they just “want him home.”
Numerous tips have been called into the Mississippi Coast Crime Stoppers and the Sheriff’s Office and have all been checked out. Search warrants had been obtained and acted upon but turned up no information as to the whereabouts of Cowart.
George County Sheriff’s Public Information Officer Shonna Pierce said tips are coming in everyday and they’re following up on each one.
“We are checking out every lead,” Pierce said.
Donovan Cowart is described as a White male, 5’7” tall, weighing 200 pounds with brown hair and blue eyes.
