Family Still Holding Out Hope For Son Who Was Kidnapped 27 Years Ago As A Baby

CHRISTOPHER-ENOCH-ABEYTANCMC600552e1Photo of baby Christopher and an age-progressed photo showing what he may look like today at 27.

Case Type: Endangered Missing
Full Name: Christopher Enoch Abeyta
Birthdate: November 28, 1985
Missing Date: July 15, 1986
Race: White Sex: Male
Age Now: 27
Height: 2’2″ Weight: 17 pounds
Missing City: Colorado Springs
Missing State: Colorado
Country: USA
Hair Color: Blonde Eyes: Blue
Other: Christopher is of Swedish, German and Spanish decent. His hair may have darkened to brown or dirty-blond over the years. His father and siblings are all of average or above average height so he may be as well, now that he’s older.

Christopher Abeyta was 7 months old when he was kidnapped as he slept on the night of July 15, 1986. His parents had put him to bed in his crib which was located in the parents room, and he was taken sometime after midnight and hasn’t been seen or heard from since.

The garage door opener was missing and the basement window was open. His parents called police and reported him missing at approximately 6:30AM. When police arrived they couldn’t find any signs of forced entry however, the front door had been left unlocked threw out the night giving anyone the opportunity to sneak in. Like most cases of missing children, family was considered the first suspects. Christopher’s mother and father had separated initially but were working things out and his father had slept at the home on the night of the disappearance. This was the first time since the separation. Investigators haven’t cleared either parent with the case but have no evidence to indicate they are involved.

Quail Lake was drained in the days after Christopher’s disappearance. Nothing was found. Neighbors hadn’t seen anything out of the ordinary and local searchers turned up nothing. In the last 27 years not one trace of the baby boy was found. No clothing, no (confirmed) sightings, nothing.

christopher-abeytaThe parents of Christopher refuse to accept that he is dead and believe someone (who maybe couldn’t bare their own children), abducted their child and raised him as their own. They have created a website, Find Christopher, which is updated regularly and features a “Message to Christopher from his family” on the front page;

We have searched for you for 26 years.
Our lives have forever been changed by this cowardly act done to an innocent baby, and there is no such thing as closure. We have lived with the hope that you were raised with a family whom has loved and cared for you. Your family continues to investigate your disappearance and will not stop until we have answers and justice has been served. You have loving parents and 6 older brothers and sisters who play an active part in your investigation.
We love you!

This pictured of Christopher is posted by the family on their website (mentioned above). Under the photo is a caption which reads ‘The photo is Christopher posing with a Baseball Trophy that his Dad had won for him at a baseball tournament taken a month before he was kidnapped’.

The family is also offering a reward of $100,000 for information leading to the recovery of Christopher Abeyta — They’ve listed some possible locations of where he may be including Texas and New Mexico. It is unclear why they believe he might be in these locations.

Bodies of three Wyoming residents found in plane wreckage Yesterday Morning in Utah

The bodies of Matthew Ahrens, 37, Trista Meyer, 34, and her daughter Shyann Lenz, 9, have been found deceased one week after they vanished flying from California to their home State of Wyoming after visiting Ahrens family in California for the Holidays.

Searches were conducted on November 25, 2012 when the missing family suddenly vanished while flying home after celebrating Thanksgiving with Ahrens family in his hometown in Bakersfield, CA.

Ahrens was the pilot and was flying the plane when it crashed in Utah on their way to Gillette, Wyoming. The three stopped off in Fillmore, Utah to refuel and Meyer texted her sister to tell her she would be home in a few hours, that was the last communication before the crash.

Family don’t no what went wrong and described Ahrens as an ”experienced pilot.”

After a week of searches by authorities in Utah, Colorado and Wyoming, a Utah Department of Public Safety helicopter spotted the wreckage in mountainous terrain Sevier County at 8.15am Yesterday, November 2, 2012.

The bodies of their two dogs were also discovered.

‘They were just about clear at the top of the mountain. I don’t know if they got disoriented or couldn’t get enough altitude. I don’t know what it is.’ said Sevier County Sheriff, Nathan Curtis.

The bodies have been taken to the state medical examiner’s office to determine the cause of death.

Shyann Lenz’s biological father, Mark Lenz is devastated with his daughters death.

‘They’re in God’s care now,’ Lenz said. ‘We don’t have to worry about them being cold and we don’t have to worry about them being out there anymore. They’re on their way home.’

Mark Lenz’s Facebook page shows him and his daughter Shyann on the default. He also left a comment saying:

One thing I noticed today, in between crying bouts, is that the world seems more cold and more empty than ever before. I have lost my way and I am struggling to find it again, my children make it easier I guess, but the hurt is still overpowering, I try to look at pictures, which makes me cry harder, I try to pray it makes me cry harder, I try to remember shy and tris being silly and I smile but then cry really hard. Ugh I am unsure how to proceed, usually I have some idea, but not today. Shyann I love you my little angel, daddy is not giving up, he has just lost his way. I cannot wait to see you again, and until then just sit up there with Pop and keep watching your dad make a fool of himself, you always said I was good at that. I love you lil lady, and I will see you soon. Love Daddy

UPDATE: 11/27/12 – LA PLATA COUNTY, CO — Mother of missing Colorado boy, Dylan Redwine, believes estranged husband might have done something:

Missing Dylan Redwine Case Update: Vallecito, Colorado: The mother of 13-year-old boy Dylan Redwine, who disappeared a week ago during a court ordered visit to his father, fears that the dad may have done something to “remove Dy

lan from the situation.”

Dylan Redwine was last seen at the home of his father, Mark Redwine, when he vanished seven days ago.

“I was married to Mark for a lot of years, and I know the way he reacts to things,” Elaine Redwine told ABC News. “If Dylan maybe did or said something that wasn’t what Mark wanted to hear, I’m just afraid of how Mark would have reacted.”

Elaine and Mark were divorced and live about five hours away from each other, ABC News affiliate KMGH reports. Dylan was staying at his father’s home because of a court order granting his father visitation rights for Thanksgiving.

Elaine Redwine told ABC News she believes her ex-husband was upset that she was the court-mandated primary custodian of their son.

“I don’t think Mark treats him very well,” Elaine Redwine said. “I would not put it past Mark to have done something to remove Dylan from the situation. You know, like ‘if I can’t have him, nobody will.’”

Dylan had been with his dad in Vallecito, Colo., for just one day before he went missing. Mark Redwine told police that his son was in his home when he left to run some errands at 7:30 a.m. When he returned four hours later, the boy was missing.

Elaine Redwine told ABC News she was having a difficult time getting in touch with her ex-husband about their son.

“He hasn’t had any contact with us. [My older son] tried to get a hold of him by texting him, and he wouldn’t respond,” she said. “I just find it odd that at a time like this, he would be so evasive.”

Mark Redwine declined to speak to ABC News.

Police say they are considering a number of possibilities, including abduction and the possibility that Dylan ran away.

“Foul play is definitely something we are looking at, but we’re hoping it’s a runaway case and that Dylan will show up and will be fine,” La Plata Sheriff’s Office spokesman Dan Bender said. “Because we don’t have any clues that point in any particular direction, we have to consider every possibility.”

Dylan’s mother and older brother both insist Dylan wouldn’t run away without contacting them, or if he did run away from his dad’s home, he would have gone to them.

“When he was afraid in any situation, he knew he could call me and I would drop everything and go out there, first thing,” Dylan’s brother, Cory Redwine, 21, told ABC News. “He knew that me, my mom, my step-dad, any of us, if he called us and said, ‘I need your help,’ he knew we’d be there.”

Hundreds of people have turned up to help search for Dylan, but so far police say they are no closer to finding him.

“We had people in the air, on horseback, on ATVs, search dogs, and we got no clues from any of that,” Bender said.

Dive teams are searching nearby Vallecito Lake using a high-powered sonar gun, after searches this weekend revealed nothing, according to KMGH. Search teams are also combing the shoreline around the lake.

Elaine Redwine told ABC News she thinks somebody must know something, and she hopes they come forward.

“Vallecito is a small community. If anybody has seen anything or knows anything, no matter how big or small it seems, please tell us,” Redwine said. “Everything right now is crucial to bringing my little boy home.”

Redwine is described as 5 feet tall, 105 pounds, blond hair, blue eyes and fair complexion. He was last seen wearing a black Nike shirt, black basketball nylon shorts, black Jordan tennis shoes and a two-tone blue and white Duke Blue Devils baseball hat. Anyone who knows the whereabouts of this missing child is asked to please call 970-385-2900.

LA PLATACOUNTY, CO — Colorado boy missing for over a week, searches called off as authorities continue to investigate:

Dylan Redwine was last seen on November 19, 2012 in Bayfield, Colorado. visiting his father, Mark Redwine.

Redwine told investigators that Dylan was at his house on County Road 500 when he left to do some errands at about 7:30 a.m. Monday. Mark said Dylan was gone when he returned to the house at about 11:30 a.m. and that’s when he contacted La Plata County Sheriff’s Office and filed a missing persons report.

Dylan hasn’t been seen or heard from since the visit.

Cadaver dogs picked up the 13-year-old’s scent, which lead them near a local lake.  Seven divers from New Mexico State Police, along with over 30 volunteers, searched Vallecito Lake through the weekend after the dogs discovery but nothing of significance was located and authorities have now called off the search as the investigation continues.

New revelations are surfacing that their was tension between Dylan’s mother, Elaine Redwine, and her estranged husband (Dylan’s father) who had a bitter visitation agreement.

“I don’t think Mark treats him very well,” says Elaine Redwine, “I would not put it past Mark to have done something to remove Dylan from the situation. You know, like ‘if I can’t have him, nobody will.’”

Elaine believes her estranged husband had something to do with his disappearance, claiming that the man didn’t treat him very well among other things. She also alleged that he may have “done something” to the 13-year-old as if to assert his ownership over the child as opposed to his mother. It’s been well established in the media that the parents of the missing boy are going through a bitter custodial dispute and that Dylan was only visiting his father on court ordered visitation. So for her to accuse the father of the boy of being involved with his disappearance casts a whole new element of negativity over the entire case. Click here for full article.

Dylan’s mother and his older brother Cory have been in La Plata County since receiving word of Dylan’s disappearance and have been working closely with searchers and investigators

He was last seen wearing a black Nike shirt, black basketball nylon shorts, black Jordan tennis shoes, and a two-tone blue and white Duke Blue Devils baseball hat.

Aspiring model: Police called a number linked to the advert but Miss Nicols’s family said the voice was not hers

A photograph of missing teenager Kara Nichols has appeared on a Las Vegas escort website.

The picture of the 19-year-old aspiring model appeared on MyRedBook.com but police said the photograph was taken from another source and that Miss Nichols did not post it.

11/22/12 COLORADO SPRINGS, CO — Amateur model may have fallen victim to ‘human exploitation’

An aspiring model has been missing for six weeks and was last seen in Colorado Springs area after telling her friend/roommate she was heading to Denver, CO.

Nineteen-year-old Kara Nichols wanted to be a professional model and would take amateur photos hoping they would fall into the right hands. On October 9, 2012, the young woman left her Colorado Springs home that she shared with a roommate and hasn’t been seen or heard from since. The roommate told authorities that Nichols had told her earlier that day that she was heading to Denver, but left without taking her pocket-book and money. She spent most of the day with two unknown woman who are being described as ‘brunettes,’ and then promptly disappeared.

She hasn’t signed onto any social media websites, including Facebook which, according to those who know her,  is very “uncharacteristic.

The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office calls Nichols disappearance ‘suspicious’ and believe she may have been lured under the pretense of a ‘model career’  by a human exploitation group that exploits wannabe/amateur models. They would not elaborate on what kind of exploitation but many are coming up with their own assumptions and theories, including a victim to a  human sex-trafficking ring.

EPSO say they believe the two woman know the whereabouts of Nichols and are asking the public for help in identifying the two.

Kara Nichols is described as a Caucasian female with long brown hair, green eyes, 5’8” tall and weighing around 120 pounds. She likes to dye her hair and prior to her disappearance, her hair had been colored light blonde.

Disappearance of Jennifer Marcum last seen at the Denver International Airport

Jennifer Lynn Marcum – Missing since: February 17, 2003 Location: Denver, Colorado

→ On the Morning of February 17, 2003, Jennifer Marcum, 25, drove her brown four-door 1999 Saturn to the federal detention center in Denver to visit her boyfriend, Steve Ennis, who was suspected of being involved with running a large distribution ring for the drug Ecstasy. Shortly after the visit at approximately 11:00am, she was seen near the Denver International Airport. That would be the last time her family and friends would hear from their loved one.

Shortly after she went missing her vehicle was spotted in the airport parking-lot, abandoned. Authorities first initial guess was that she boarded a plane. They searched the area, asking airport employee’s if they’ve seen the young woman, they also checked all flights that departed on 02/17/03 but Jennifer wasn’t on any of them. They looked at her cell-phone records but the phone calls stop abruptly around the same time she disappeared.

Having trouble with the mysteries disappearance, Denver police asked the Federal Bureau of Investigation for assistance but despite dozens of tips, searches, interviews and media publicity, Jennifer Marcum’s remains missing.

FBI investigating Jennifer’s case heard that she may have had plans to travel to the Spokane area of Washington and possibly New York but it is unknown if she arrived at either destination and foul-play is suspected. Many people believe Jennifer’s disappearance is connected to her boyfriend’s illegal activity, but no evidence proves this theory. According to Steve, Jennifer would frequently visit him at the prison and its possible that someone may have known her routine and followed her after the visit. Police do have a suspect in the case but without a body to prove a crime there is little they can do.

Suspect: Scott Kimball, a convicted serial killer who is currently serving 70 years in prison is also a suspect in several other unsolved cases including the disappearance of Jennifer. In November, 2010, Kimball wrote a nine page later to a news outlet proclaiming his innocence in several cases involving murdered/missing woman, saying he wasn’t in the areas at the time the crimes were committed.

Photo of Scott Kimball at one of his trails for a separate crime

Photo of Jennifer with longer, brunette hair, which is her natural color. She changed her style dramatically prior to her disappearance.

Description: Caucasian female standing 5’6” tall and weighing approximately 120 (slim body frame.) She has naturally brown hair (although she frequently dyed it light) hair blue eyes. Both her ears were pierced at the time of her disappearance and she also had breast implants with unique serial-numbers on them. She was wearing a intrauterine device which is used for birth-control.

Aliases: May use the last names Hoyle or Wiggin

Date of birth: June 15, 1977, Jennifer was 25-years-old in 2003 and would be 34-years-old this year.

DOB: Mar 25, 1994 Age Now: 18 Missing Since: Nov 25, 2011 Sex: Male Race: Caucasian Hair: Brown Eyes: Brown Height: 5’9″ (175cm) Weight: 130lbs (59kg) Missing From: GREELEY, CO, USA

11/01/12, COLORADO — Trevor Craven had an argument with his parent(s) on the evening of November 25, 2011. Upset, the teen took off on his white and black (mountain) bike to blow off some steam.  The argument between him and his family was nothing out of the ordinary, just your typical teenage drama.

It’s now been almost one year since the teen left his home and to date, no-one has seen or heard from him.

Initially, when he didn’t come home that night his parents, although concerned, didn’t think to much of it. But when he didn’t show up the following day that’s when Mrs Craven, the mother of Trevor, decided to call to the Greeley Police Department to report him as an endangered runaway juvenile.

At first authorities and much of the public assumed he was just another teen runaway and very little attention was giving to his case. They figured he would come home on his own. But as the days when on his family grew more concerned and it took authorities six months to agree and change his status from endangered runaway to endangered missing. He is still listed on various websites as a runaway including NCMEC and NAMUS and it seems as if no-one is taking his case seriously. A Facebook page titled Missing: Trevor Craven was created shortly after he went missing and the page has only received 59 ”likes” which is very little compared to the thousands of likes other missing people pages receive.

He has been missing for approximately 344 days yet a Facebook page created called ‘Missing: Trevor Craven’ has only managed to receive 59 ”likes” which reinforces my belief that media focuses on particular  type of stories that they can sensationalize and add mystery to while they ignore cases like this.

Trevor’s Facebook Profile shows that he attended Northridge High-School prior to his disappearance. According to his photo’s he liked to change his hair-style quite often. He  would regularly post on his Facebook wall and responded to the comments he received however his responses and posts have stop after late November, 2011 despite people leaving newer comments weeks after he was last seen.

He is still getting his daily horoscope and back in April of 2011 he answered questions (facebook app titled ”eight questions”) – Things your parents let you do as a kid that they would be arrested for child endangerment now? – To which he replied - “Riding in the front seat · Rode in a car/truck with no seat belts · Walked down the street after dark no reflectors or other safety devices

His case has also been listed on National Center for Missing & Exploited Children – Case Number: NCMC1186756

Trevor has several tattoos including one that spells out ”FTW”  on his upper right arm and another tattoo on his upper left arm which depicts a red gas-mask and a star and swastika on his backside.

He was last seen wearing a black and grey hooded jacket, also known as a “hoodie.”

Another Attempted Abduction Involving A Dark-Colored Sedan In Jefferson County

There has been alot of (attempted) abductions in the Denver/Arvada area lately. This incident written and published by Denverpost echoes last week’s article about a Caucasian male in a dark colored sedan attempting to abduct a child in Jefferson County. Who is this child predator and when will he be caught?

Posted: 10/17/12 Reposted 10/18/12 Article By: Thomas Hendrick ( thedenverchannel )

The man is described as white, between 35 and 40 years old. He is about 200 pounds with medium salt and pepper hair. Anyone who as information about this case is asked to call the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office tip line at 303-271-5612.

______

Is the above article connected to the below article? Is it the same child predator roaming the street of Arvada?

Composite sketch of suspect. One of the victim’s described the man as having facial hair while the other victim described the man as having NO facial hair. There descriptions, aside from the facial hair, matched. It’s possible the man shaved/grew his a beard/mustache to try and disguise himself.

Jefferson County, Arvada, CO — Is Colorado suspect in last weeks attempted abduction of two children related to the disappearance of Jessica Ridgeway?

Arvada Police are trying to locate a suspect in an attempted child abduction case. The man has approached children near Warder Elementary School and Fitzmorris Elementary School twice this past week. In both cases, the unidentified adult male has offered candy to children, then tried luring them into his vehicle.

The first victim described the man as having a thin build and mustache, while the second victim described the man as having no facial hair. Police and witnesses are certain it’s the same man and he most likely shaved his facial hair after growing it to disguise himself.

The suspect is described as a Caucasian male with light blond/brown hair and around 5’9” tall with a thin build. Police believe he is between the ages of – Late teens to early thirties.

The biggest clue is the suspect’s vehicle which is described as a mid 1990′s era royal blue, four-door sedan with dents on the passenger side rear door. It may also have half of the rear wheels covered with a “skirt” similar to those seen on a 1996 Cadillac Deville.

Jefferson County Public Schools sent a letter home with all Arvada students on Thursday, (10/04/12) to alert parents and to remind them of the importance of talking with their child about ”stranger danger” and what to do if a stranger tried taking them against their will. In the letter it also talks about telling children to be aware of their surroundings.

A couple of days after the letter’s were sent, a 10-year-old girl disappeared on her way to school just a few miles away. Jessica Ridgeway disappeared on her way to Witt Elementary School on October 5th. An Amber Alert was issued by Arvada Police Department less than one hour later. She was ultimately discovered deceased less then a week after her disappearance not far from the attempted abductions mentioned above.

Below is a posted I created back in October regarding Luke’s disappearance.

Longmont, Colorado — Brandy Turner, the mother of Luke Turner (3) said she and her husband, Monty Turner, have been having marriage difficulties and he moved out of their Longmont residence in late June. A week or two after Monty moved out, Brandy filed for divorce on July 6, 2012 and had secured a temporary protective order on behalf of her son against Monty Turner, but the papers have not been served due to his (possibly willful) disappearance.

Monty Turner

Her son has been missing (abducted) for over three months, going on four months and she misses him dearly and wants him to come home. She last seen her child after dropping him off on a 4th of July visit to see his father who in return, selfishly took the child away from his mother.

Both Monty and Luke Turner are considered ‘missing persons’ because Longmont Police Department do not have evidence of a crime being committed. Sgt. Joel Post said Monty Turner has parental rights to the child. The case remains open.

Back in July, Brandy said she understood the legal nuance and she believes her husband does not want to be found, but she wants her child back. She said she believes they might be living in a camper Monty Turner was hauling with a truck. He planned to live in the camper after moving out of their Longmont home and had plans to park it in Lafayette. It’s possible he had gotten the camper for the very purpose of abducting Luke.

Luke’s loved ones are very worried that they will never see him again and media has paid little attention to this case because it’s a possible ”parental” abduction. Although still illegal it is not looked at as an actual abduction in the eyes of media.

Brandy said she last heard from her former husband on July 2, 2012 when he replied to a text she had sent him asking for their child. He was suppose to meet her at the Park-N-Ride at Niwot Road and U.S. Highway 287 on July 5 to drop off Luke, but failed to show up. She said her father-in-law, who lives in Divide, told her that Monty Turner took the boy camping, but she wasn’t given a location..

According to Brandy, Monty has always been a good father but that he is not an outdoor type of guy and she has been worried about their well-being. Luke was still being breast-feed prior to his disappearance and was not yet weaned off breast-milk when he was taken.

Monty Turner has family ties in Brighton, Denver, Divide and Teller County, and around Springfield, Mo.

A friend of Brandy Turner started a Facebook group this past Summer called ”To Find Luke” which has gotten over 9,500 ‘likes’ in the past several months.
